Archaeology on the upper Danube
The upper Danube region is an archaeologically and historically rich landscape. From the Ice Age caves in the Achtal valley to the treasures of medieval architecture, the region offers something for everyone. Without question, the archaeological landscape around the Heuneburg near Herbertingen-Hundersingen is one of the highlights. The Iron Age centre of power on the course of the Danube was surrounded by a network of other hilltop fortifications. Join us in exploring the rich regional and international importance of the Heuneburg.
